South Africa’s Tyla receives four BET Award nominations

South Africa’s Tyla, the rising star who recently clinched her first Grammy for Best African Performance, is hitting another high note with four BET Award nominations.

The talented artist finds herself in esteemed company, with mega-star Beyonce also receiving four nominations. Both musicians are up for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and the sought-after Viewers Choice Award.

Tyla’s four nominations span across various categories, including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Best New Artist, Viewer’s Choice Award, and Best International Act.

Her incredible success is a testament to her dedication and passion for music, solidifying her presence on the international stage.

The BET Awards are a celebration of Black excellence in the entertainment industry, honoring achievements in music, film, television, and sports. This year, the global stage is set for fierce competition, with African talents making their mark.

Other African artists making waves at the awards include Burna Boy, nominated for Best Male R&B/Pop Artist and Best Male Hip Hop Artist, as well as Tems, recognized for Video Director of the Year. Dr. Bobby Jones is also on the list, up for the Best Gospel/Inspirational Award. South Africa’s Makhadzi, Ayra Starr, and Focalistic are set to showcase their talents on the prestigious platform.

The race is tight, with Canadian rapper Drake leading the pack with seven nominations, followed closely by Nicki Minaj with six. As the anticipation builds, the BET Awards promise a night of excitement and celebration of Black excellence.

Mark your calendars for June 30, when the BET Awards will air live from Los Angeles, showcasing the best talents in the industry and honoring the achievements of artists like Tyla who continue to make their mark on the world stage.
