Position: Central Africa Correspondent
Location: Central Africa

Role Description

This is a remote internship role for a Central Africa Correspondent at Who Owns Africa. As a Central Africa Correspondent, you will be responsible for conducting research, writing, and delivering accurate and timely news reports from Central African countries of Angola, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Sao Tomé and Principe. You will cover a wide range of topics including current affairs, politics, governance, business, and the people who are shaping Africa’s future. This internship offers an opportunity to gain valuable journalism experience, enhance your research and writing skills, and contribute to a platform that challenges prevailing narratives about Africa.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to a diverse audience
  • Customer service skills, with a focus on providing accurate and unbiased information
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise, and engaging content
  • Research skills, with the ability to gather and analyze information from diverse sources
  • Knowledge and understanding of African politics and current affairs

Relevant skills and qualifications that would be beneficial:

  • Familiarity with digital media platforms and social media tools
  • Experience in journalism or related fields
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Language skills in French or other Central African languages
