Ivory Coast President Alassane Dramane Ouattara is currently contemplating a significant government reshuffle, which has been the topic of much speculation among political circles in the West African nation.

The current Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé, is expected to be reappointed, but there are indications that several other key figures in the government may be on their way out.

The decision to reshuffle the government comes after President Ouattara recently removed Prime Minister Patrick Achi and dissolved the existing government structure.

This move, which was announced by the presidency’s secretary-general, Abdourahmane Cissé, has thrown the political landscape of Ivory Coast into turmoil.

Ivory Coast is gearing up for a crucial election in 2025, and the recent political upheaval has raised concerns about the stability of the government in the run-up to the polls. Since 2020, the country has seen three prime ministers come and go, with each successive appointment being met with mixed reactions from the public.

Prime Minister Achi, who took office in April 2022 following the last government reshuffle, has been credited with steering the country through a period of political uncertainty.

However, his sudden removal has left many wondering about the future direction of Ivory Coast’s government.

President Ouattara has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Achi and his government for their service to the nation, but it remains to be seen who will be appointed to the new government structure.

The outgoing officials will continue to serve until the new government is formed later this month.

In September, President Ouattara announced a ministerial reshuffle that is expected to take place after the Ivorian Senate elects its new president.

This upcoming reshuffle is likely to bring about further changes in the government leadership, as President Ouattara seeks to solidify his administration ahead of the 2025 Ivory Coast election.
